Revival Retro - Shoe Addiction!

When I was invited to preview Revival Retros’ new SS17 shoe collection I jumped at the chance. A Sunday shop lock-in with a whole bunch of beautiful ladies playing dress-up? How could I resist?!
To say I was nervous is an understatement. Being deaf, I suffer from social anxiety as I never know how I’m going to get on without having a close friend to rely on! But my worries disappeared the instant I walked through the door. Boutique owner, Rowena, was so super friendly and welcoming, like an old friend I’d known for years. And everyone else was just as lovely!
As usual, I was the last to arrive (some things never change) and we were soon turning the shop upside down, trying on as many shoes as we could fit on our feet! Two clear favourites amongst the group were the Irma “Apple Pie” Heels in red, and the Remix Vintage Eva Shoes in green.

My personal choice were these gorgeous Red Javitz Vintage Shoes by Chelsea Crew...

Having filled the shop with shoes and boxes the ladies wasted no time in moving on to the rails upon rails of beautiful clothes. The first dress to catch my eye was the lovely 'Cotton Floral Vintage 50s Dress'.

Ella just happened to be trying on the same print in a different style, so it was the perfect opportunity for a snap. #TwinningIsWinning

Whilst all this was going on we were all busy cooking up a social media frenzy on Instagram…

We stopped for a cuppa and some lunch. Hettie brought with her the most delicious homemade rocky roads as a sneaky treat. It was nice to sit down and have a proper chat with everyone and Sarah kept us all entertained with the story of how Rowena had started the shop.
After lunch we were asked to choose our favourite outfit to wear for a photo shoot. Since it was such a windy day we decided the best option would be to pose as shop window mannequins. It was impossible not to strike silly poses when the poor photographer, Tory Smith, and Sarah were outside blowing around in the wind!

The rest of the afternoon was spent trying on pretty much every item of clothing in the shop! We each had a mini photo shoot with the talented Tory Smith. Now, it's all very well dressing like a pin-up, but I'm definitely a sucker for comfort, so I love my casual pinu-up styles! I selected the 50s Classic Cardigan Top over the Textured Scoop Neck Top, teamed with the 50s Button Down Skirt. I then finished off this simple day look with one of the many gorgeous silk scarves on display. All items are available from The Revival Retro Boutique.

We all had such a blast playing dress-up and it was a great opportunity to meet people I’ve only ever seen on Instagram. One such beauty was @LadyEccentrikb This photo captures the moment when she realised who I was told me she was a fan of my work! The feeling was most definitely mutual!

Other Instagram beauties I got to meet included @MissVictoryViolet, @MrsBowrRetro, @Scarlettluxe, @Norafinds, @Greyhoundvintage, @lazyvintagegal, @retrorow, and of course @MissLillianLove and @Hettiesky, whom I had already met on a photo shoot last Summer. The Revival Retro Boutique is a true gem situated in the heart of London. Rowena’s eye for only the best in vintage reproduction is second to none. She started out in shoes and has successfully branched out into clothing and accessories, and even a small selection of menswear. I strongly suggest you pay this cute little boutique a visit next time you’re shopping in London.

If only I wasn’t saving for the wedding, I could have blissfully shopped for shoes all day! I’ve added at least 3 pairs to my “must have” list and am hoping they’ll still be in stock after the wedding. Not to mention my dream 20s dress!

Of course, I couldn’t go home with nothing… What’s a girl to do?

Thank you so much Revival Retro for inviting me along to this splendid day x
